As part of Avanade—a subsidiary of Accenture and Microsoft—I contributed to the pre-launch efforts for Microsoft Teams. My role involved collaborating with the design team to develop personas and storyboards, identifying use cases and integrations for MS Teams across the CPG, airline, and automotive industries.

From explorations to final deck in 4 weeks while working with fellow designers and the GTM team at Microsoft.

Background

Microsoft needed clear storyboards to evaluate how MS Teams could effectively replace Skype for Business while providing a more versatile solution through seamless integration with third-party tools. To address this challenge, our studio at Avanade, Accenture, was tasked with analyzing and visualizing enterprise communication workflows to ensure a smooth transition and enhanced collaboration.

Research & Planning

Microsoft had gathered qualitative data on the usage of tools within MS Teams. After their internal analysis, the data was handed over to our Avanade Design team to further analyze and develop industry-specific scenarios for presentation.

Design & Strategy

To develop a targeted strategy for MS Teams, our team divided the analysis across 19 business industries. I focused on an example scenario within the Consumer Products & Goods:

  • Example Scenario : User journey of collaboration between Contoso and an online content creator to help Contoso promote their products.

This strategic approach ensured that MS Teams’ capabilities were tailored to industry-specific needs, driving adoption and optimizing enterprise collaboration.

Developed industry-specific personas and storyboards to illustrate how MS Teams could seamlessly integrate into daily workflows, addressing key challenges and enhancing collaboration across the Consumer Products and Goods, Automotive, and Airline sectors.
